A ”Long” Tradition
For 44 years now ”long” people, young and old, coming from many countries of Europe and the rest of the world, are meeting every year in another European city. Making new friends and meeting known club members, fun, tours, music and the famous European Gala Ball on Saturday are parts of the program over a whole week.

What once began in Dortmund KLM (Tall Club) a long time ago, had then been carried on to different cities over Germany and Western-Europe. Because of the intensive preparations of the individual organization teams of the countrie’s clubs, guests were always able to get to know the surroundings and the culture of a city in a special way.

About a year ago, it had been decided to prepare the next 45th European Convention in Finland. For the first time now in the most North-Eastern country of the European Union. Your friends of the Finnish club are already working on the preparation. The members of the organization team will do their utmost to create a beautiful, interesting and unforgettable week for you.

Since Finland and the Finnish towns have much more to offer than some people would assume, especially in the summer time. An impressive and manifold program is waiting for you. The diversity of this country will surprise you.

There will be something for everybody. And you will experience a part of Finland, it’s countryside, cities, people and culture in many different ways.

We also would like to let you know that you can book each individual part of the program separately. However the organization team strongly recommends to book the whole program in order to experience and see as much as possible in this yet short week.

Traditionally the conventions are normally held in May, in the week of the Ascension Day holiday. But, because of some organizational reasons, and as a one time exception only, it had been decided jointly to hold the convention this time from: 10th June to 17th June 2012.
